Leopold Gottlieb's travels

  • 2.01.2026

Rather than simple moving from one place to another, for Leopold Gottlieb travelling was a source of inspiration. After leaving Drohobych, the artist never stopped being on the road. His life seems to take the shape of a map marked with train tickers and Parisian addresses.

Paris, Vienna, Lviv, Marseilles, Zakopane, Collioure – each of these places formed a separate chapter. In Paris, he was a member of international Bohemia, in Vienna he entered into dialogue with new trends, and in Zakopane he looked for the Polish spirit. Each journey made his art richer, adding new tones to his palette of experience.
